The cemetery in Brighouse contains
Portland stone headstones from both World Wars and several burials
in family plots. I am indebted to Mr Leslie Butcher for his assistance
in finding the grave of Sgt Booth and also for the interesting
information about the cemetery. In the above photograph he is
standing in an unmarked burial area from WW1. The dead, from
a local military hospital were brought here for burial. They
were brought at night to hide the high number of casualties from
the local population. |
