George was born on the 3rd November 1916 in Dundee, Scotland. He served with the Derbyshire Constabulary for 3 months until 7 July 1938 when he returned to Dundee. He then enlisted in the RAF on the 5th January 1939. Married 21st January 1942 to Annie Dewar (jute preparer). Missing/KIA at Peenemunde Raid 18/8/1943, whilst Flight Engineer on Halifax JD 158, with 419 Squadron.
